My-BV Project Site

My-BV is the town of Buena Vista’s interactive community engagement platform where residents and stakeholders can stay informed, share feedback, and participate in local projects and planning efforts. It hosts information on current town initiatives. Offers tools for submitting ideas or questions, and helps facilitate conversations between the public and town officials

serving as a key local resource for both residents and visitors. The site offers community information, an events calendar, a business and member directory, visitor guides, and updates on local happenings. It also highlights things to do, places to eat and stay, recreation opportunities, and ways to connect with the Buena Vista community and support local businesses.

Buena Vista Heritage Museum

This nonprofit organization is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Buena Vista and Chaffee County. The group stewards several historic sites, including the 1882 Historic Chaffee County Courthouse, Turner Farm & Apple Orchard, and the Depot & Caboose, They offer immersive exhibits, community events, and educational programs that connect visitors to the region’s cultural and transportation heritage. Through conservation, interpretation, and community involvement, the organization fosters curiosity and helps keep local history alive for future generations.

Buena Vista Historical Preservation Commission

This local government body in Buena Vista, Colorado is dedicated to identifying, evaluating, and safeguarding the town’s historic and cultural resources. The Commission reviews nominations for local landmark designation, evaluates proposed changes and demolitions of historic properties, and advises the Town on preservation matters. This site helps connect local cultural heritage collections to a national audience by aggregating their records into the broader DPLA digital library, making regional history more accessible for students, researchers, genealogists, and the general public.

Buena Vista Public Library History

The Buena Vista Public Library has been a cornerstone of the community since its establishment in 1898. The original library building stood next to Town Lake, just across the street from its present location, reflecting the town’s early commitment to education and public access to knowledge.
