A little Bit About Us

“The mission of the Buena Vista Public Library is to make high-interest, high-demand materials readily available, as well as to actively support the lifelong learning, recreation, and information needs of community residents of all ages and abilities. Special emphasis is placed on stimulating children’s interests and appreciation for reading and learning, on integrating new technology with traditional library resources, and expanding access and services beyond the library’s walls”.

Since its establishment in 1898 the Buena Vista Public Library has been a source of recreational reading for adults and children of the town and surrounding area. The library will continue to serve as an “open door to exploration & learning” for all who need us. Today’s library is so much more than a “book repository”. The Buena Vista Public Library stands ready to provide the community with exceptional programming, computer services, answers to your informational needs, and a friendly smile! Have a question or a comment? Please feel free to call, mail, stop by or visit us on Facebook!
